Platform Monitoring
The 4P platform can be very demanding in terms of physical server resources whether concerning disk space or cpu and memory usage. The Monitoring section, accessible from the main menu on the left, offers a few indicators and tools to monitor and control these resources.
Monitoring Indicators
First of all, the monitoring section offers the following three indicators:
Processors: Indicates how many CPU cores are being used
Memory: Indicates how much the RAM is being used
4P Disk: Indicates how full is the 4P server disk
The other indicators offer a visibility over the availability of third-party services that are required for 4P to work properly, such as:
iRODS: distributed storage service
Cromwell: workflow execution orchestrator
Docker Swarm: distributed Docker execution environment
VMs: the different VMs used by 4P for running workflows
PHIS Instances: the status of each instance of PHIS to which 4P is connected
Note
These indicators are refreshed every hour.
Monitoring History
4P also keeps a track of the platform resources indicatorsover one year and displays them in the charts available in the Monitoring History section.
Important
If you notice a critical platform resources saturation or a problem of service availability, please contact the platform administrators.
