View Data Element

Datasets in 4P are composed by one or several data elements defined by their types, level and status. More information about a data element is available in the data detail page. To access the detail page of a certain data element, open the dataset page, and in the box Data click the row corresponding to the data element.

The data detail page now displays several key information that will be described in the sections below.

Toolbar

The main toolbar gives access to several actions on the current data element depending on its type and status:

../_images/btn-prepare-download.png

This button allows to download part or whole of data contents on the local computer. It prepares a downloadable archive that can be downloaded afterward.

Refer to the Download Data section.

../_images/btn-data-retrieve.png

This button allows the user to retrieve data contents of a running or failed process on his local computer. Please notice that it is not garanteed to retrieve any complete data as the process may be in a running or unstable state.

Refer to the Retrieve Temporary Data Files section.

../_images/btn-edit-metadata-large.png

This button allows the user to edit the metadata of the current data element. This option is available only for L0 (raw) data directly loaded on 4P.

Refer to the Fill in metadata section.

../_images/btn-invalidate.png

This button allows the user to invalidate the current data element because it contains wrong or invalid data. Invalidated data cannot be used as process input nor be transfered to PHIS.

When the user invalidates a data element, he is asked to enter a comment to justify the action. This action is available when the data element has been successfully generated.

../_images/btn-process-data.png

This button allows the user to process the current data element and will automatically filter the available macros for this specific data.

Refer to the Process Data section.

Description

This box displays general information about the current data element such as its datatype, its status, its creation date and time (or loading date for L0 data), its size, its vector.

../_images/icon-phis-green.png

The PHIS indicator gives information about the transfer of data to PHIS. Green means that data has been transfered.

Task details

The data detail page also gives brief information about the process (or loading) task being used to generate this data. The following buttons are common to each task:

../_images/btn-download-logs.png

Download a file containing the logs of the task.

../_images/btn-view.png

Open the detail page of the task.

../_images/data-loading-task.png

For L0 data (ie raw data being uploaded to 4P) details about the loading task are displayed: the name of the TAR archive being loaded, the status and progression of the loading and its duration.

../_images/data-processing-task.png

For L1 and L2 data (ie data being generated by a process) details about the processing task are displayed: the Macro being used, the input data, the status and progression of the processing and its duration. Other buttons (such as resume, restart or cancel a process may also be available depending on the process status).

The Success rate of the overall process is also given and might reveal that the data has been partially generated (see the section Check the process success rate).

Metadata

../_images/view-data-metadata.png

The box metadata displays the list of metadata composing the current data element and their actual values and types.

../_images/btn-view.png

When a metadata value is too long to be displayed entirely in this table, the View value button opens a dialog displaying the full value and giving the possibility to copy it to the clipboard.

When a metadata is a document from the Catalog, a clickable link toward this document details is shown:

../_images/view-data-metadata-document.png

Note

Metadata of a L0 data element can be edited thanks to the button edit metadata

Comments

../_images/view-data-comments.png

Comments can be added to the current data by different users to add various information. The Comments box displays the number of comments associated to this data. Each data can also be edited or deleted by its author and the platform administrators.

Versions

../_images/view-data-select-version.png

Sometimes a dataset may contain more than one version of the same type of data. When it is the case, the version selector appears in the Description box of the data detail page. The latest version is always selected by default, but other versions are viewable thanks to this selector.
